Review and Commentary On The Free Dragon's Foot OSR Magazine Footprints Issue #12

Grab It Right Over
HERE

I pulled a fast one on my players during last night's post apocalyptic Mars game using the Dungeon From a Distant Star Adventure. Basically I used a couple of monsters and an NPC from an OD&D world. The encounters were a success, because Footprints is an old school magazine the conversions are pretty damn simple and easy to use.

How To Use This Issue In a Science Fantasy Campaign

Leomund’s Silken Squares (magic item)-  This one kept the players busy as they were dealing with they thought was an artifact of advanced science. They were really cautious around this one. Makes a great item to find in either Carcosa or Mutant Future.
New “Gygaxian” classes for your AD&D® game! Part Two - The Mountebank and the Jester- Nothing like finding some NPC's who have been frozen in sleep pods and don't speak your language. This went horribly wrong for the NPC's but it was all in fun and jest.
Feudal Social Hierarchy in AD&D (article)- Nothing like adding a bit of colour to your alien societies.
Alternative Tables for Ability Adjustments (article)- This one has uses for conversions and ideas for going from one old school system to another.
Dinner is Served! (encounter) - This one can be a mean little encounter and could be used for either Mutant Future or even X plorers if done correctly.
Damned One (creature)- This was one of the specimens that the aliens had 'collected' and the PC's really tried to stay away from. Great for SWN, Xplorers, or another old school game where its taken from its native habitat.
The Whipcord (creature) - This was one they had trouble with last night a monster that can and has shown up in Carcosa, Xplorers, and Mutant Future. This one can be a real pain in the rear for adventurers.
