D30 Random Space Encounters From War of the Worlds TV pilot
  1. A Manta transport heading to Endor with a cargo of red Barsoomian slaves aboard. There are over 1d20 slaves within stasis chambers aboard. 
  2. A Manta Squadron containing 9 manta attack ships. These are deep space fighters. 9 hit points each, main heat ray batteries 1d4 points of damage each with a 1 mile range. The antimatter torpedoes have a 1 light year range & do 1d6 points of damage each. 
  3. A traveling freighter containing the psionic neanderthal warriors of the Endorrians. 2nd level warriors. Telepathy, telekinesis, & precognition are their psionics. They are armed with a blaster staff 1d4 points of damage, 5 shots, 20 yard range. 1d30 aboard 
  4. A deep space fuel carrier with humanoid androids. 1d4 tons of antimatter fuel aboard. The androids are workers & former global Earth forces now forced to serve new masters. They are armed with stunners 
  5. A Endorrian deep space hyper space battle carrier armed with photon torpedoes. 1d8 damage, 4 light year range. Will shoot first & ask questions later 
  6. A Sarmak Squadron of manta fighters 1d4, 7 hit points each armed with heat rays 1d3 damage riding a hyperspace wake to a target planet. Very dangerous attitude 
  7. A psionic carrier ship with 1d6  psionicists aboard. A memeserist attends them. All are in stasis pods. Valuable to the right buyer 
  8. A United Planet Cruiser 1d30 plus 7 officers are aboard. The cruiser is armed with photon torpedoes 1d6 points of damage 2 light year range & Full scale blaster banks. Each doing 1d4 points of damage 2 parsec range 
  9. A deep survey mission ship, 4 crew, traveling for 4 years now. Capable & very effective. Data core contains the whereabouts of valuable fuel sources. Crew in sleep pods 
  10.  An Endorrian ship making its way through hyperspace. The crew is on a 5 year mission & looking for new worlds to conquer. The ship is armed with 1d30 sting ray missiles each doing 1d10 points of damage. They are also armed with a heat ray which does 1d4 points of damage. They will shoot first & ask questions later. Ship will self destruct rather then risk capture 
  11. A vortex ship of the space gods. This crystal & spun lattice ship contains the essence from a rogue god who will try & possess the first person who opens the ship. 
  12. The long lost ship the Solomon Kane! This treasure ship has been lost for centuries & contains the wealth of the ages now guarded by a planar demon! 
  13. A sarmak trade delegation on its way to the planet Endor. Has energy weapons aboard. The Sarmak are armed with 1d10  nuclear warheads aboard with a 3 light year range. These nuclear weapons are designed to cripple  another ship. 
  14. An ancient alien vessel containing the life essences of ancestors to the Sarmak. These will try to possess the nearest person opening the crystal enclosures these life essences are stored in. Unless a saving throw is made 
  15. An ancient solar sail vessel is nearing light speed & whizzes right past your vessel. The ship contains the remains of 4 separate civilization.Worth 20,000 gold pieces. The cargo is booby trapped with mono razor trip wires.  
  16. A United planet Torpedo ship rigged to go off near a planet. The ship is leaking gamma radiation from a small hull breach in the fuel tanks. Is there anyone aboard? 
  17. A giant space parasite that will feed on the nearest energy source available. 3 hit points this monster will rend anything that gets near it for 1d4 points of damage 
  18. A deep hyperspace probe emerges near your ship. The thing contains the computer records of a ship thought lost several hundred years ago. The data is absolutely invaluable 
  19. A Manta flee of 18 vessels!  These are deep space fighters. 9 hit points each, main heat ray batteries 1d4 points of damage each with a 1 mile range. The antimatter torpedoes have a 1 light year range & do 1d6 points of damage each.
  20. A royalty courier from a royal house from the United Planets. There is a 30,000 credit bounty on her head! She will throw herself at the nearest person with the highest charisma. The lady is wanted in 3 separate systems for starting wars 
  21. A Barsoomian patrol ship that is looking for lost or missing civilians. The patrol ship is lightly armed with 2 mega watt cannons each capable of doing 1d3 points of damage with a 2 light year range 
  22. This United Planets troop transport has 1d100 crack troops in stasis pods wants help waking them upon arrival . They will be very cranky if woken up before they reach their mission objective. Armed with standard energy weapons 
  23. A Sarmak Death Ship! Contains 1d30 soldier & standard energy weapons. The weapons each do 1d4 points of damage. There are 4 hard points
  24. A star wreck exits hyper space. There is a  40% of the thing being infected with zombies aboard. 1d20 of the bastards lying in weight 
  25. A Barsoomian princess is traveling the space lanes in style. 1d6 Green warrior bodyguard. armed with short swords & shields 
  26. A cyborg conversion ship with 1d20 warriors aboard. Armed with a 40 point force field. 
  27. A convoy of survivors of a highly advanced planet destroyed by the space gods. Looking to recruit adventurers ! 
  28. A cargo ship lays just inside a gravity well of a planet tumbling end over end. The ship contains 1d3 tons of rich ore & fuel. The ship will be crushed in 1d30 hours! 
  29. A fleet of Endorrians on their way to Earth, Armed with Energy weapons ! 
  30. A vast armada approaches your position repeating the message, " Are you a god?" Heavily armed & very dangerous
